The Yancey County Board of Commissioners along with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina have announced a new business coming to Yancey county. Paradigm Energy and Storage has plans to build their headquarters facility on an 87 acre parcel just west of Burnsville. Chris McHenry, the company owner said Paradigm Energy is an innovative producer of energy solutions. The company will create 150 jobs and will invest $175 million in their Burnsville headquarters. McHenry said it’s the worth ethic and friendliness of the people that attracted him to this area. The facility will be air and water green friendly. Plans are to begin construction this year.

How To Make Public Comment: you must arrive before the meeting starts to sign up.
Before each meeting they place a sign-up sheet on the podium in the front of the courtroom where you can write your name down and what you wish to speak about. Also, there is a stack of agenda's placed there as well for anyone that wishes to have a hard copy. The Commissioners require that you sign up at the podium before the meeting begins, and when its time for the public comment period of the meeting the Chairman will go down the list and call on each speaker who signs up and allow them three minutes to address the board at the podium.
